Though the second of Giugiaro’s Maserati saloon concepts never made into their showrooms it directly influenced the AM330 3rd series Quattroporte that was also designed at Italdesign. Note that it utilised the steering wheel from a Citroën SM (also used in earlier series Maserati Merak), though this was after Citroën’s interest in Maserati had been sold to DeTomaso
